Dan Jarvis does his own Lab3seats

Posted on Updated on

Three cheers for Dan Jarvis, who completed his own Labour Three Seat Challenge in Brighton & Hove this week. This follows the official Lab3seats visit where the team made 800 contacts and the a simuilar visit organised by Young Labour.

The seats are 19th, 25th and 28th on Labour’s target list respectively and we won all of them the last time we went from opposition into government. We need to do the same thing next year to get Ed Miliband into Downing Street.

Dan, who is leading Labour’s First World War commemorations, went one step further and squeezed in three local visits – a cup of tea with organisers from local the Royal British Legion, a visit to Blind Veterans UK’s Brighton centre, and a meeting with members from all three Brighton CLPs in the evening. Lab3seats goes to Rochester and Strood

Posted on Updated on

This Saturday’s Lab3seats has been cancelled, instead we are going to go and help the wonderful Naushabah Khan in Rochester and Strood. You will know the MP, Mark Reckless, resigned the Tory party and his seat and is seeking election as a UKIP MP. This is a seat held by Labour until 2010.

I really hope you are able to join me and the Lab3seats team. All are welcome. Bring friends. Training is provided for all new canvassers. Here are the details:

Those coming from London:

Meet at 9.40 (Platform 11) for the 09:55 from London St Pancras International

Those driving make your way to 73 Maidstone Road, Rochester, ME1 1RL for 10.45

Email (richardwangell[at]gmail.com] or text [07966 161 444] me to let us know if you are coming. Would be great to get a good turn out for Naushabah and team Labour.

For more information about what is happening in the seat see Luke Akehurst’s latest LabourList columns, here and here.
